From Script to Screen Story Idea
Story idea for Ballet Dancer - Windmill - Bowling Ball:
A Ballet dancer in the Moulin Rouge is practicing a new dance with her male dance partner and every time it gets to the lift he fails and drops her, after trying with many different dance partners she gets annoyed and leaves, wandering into a bowling alley next door where she watches a champion bowler. Noticing his hand movements as he bowls are the same necessary for the dance move, knowing that he would be able to do it she drags him back to the dance stage. Upon arriving she tries to get him to do the dance move, with her failing to hold his attention. She goes back and gets one of his bowling balls and holds it in front of him and when he goes to grab it throws it too one side and jumps into his hands instead and pulls off the perfect dance move. After the success she manages to get him to repeatedly perform the life by him picturing her as a bowling ball and convinces him to become her new dance partner. From then on they perform every night at the Moulin Rouge with his only job to perform the life while he pictures her as a bowling ball.

Soundscape Ideas
I started off producing some drawings from what I could pull out of the given key frame, focusing on the 'creature' and the abstract figures that surround it.
I had a couple of ideas on where to take this, first was that a Scientist created it in his lab and is then showing off his creation at a party and my other idea was that a fisherman discovered the first of this creature and is showing it off.
Character Design Classes Week 3
Then I had to design a character from a coat hanger, deciding on who that character would be and why that type of coat hanger would reflect them.

From Script to Screen Story Idea
Following the OGR I needed to come up with a shorter story that incorporated the windmill element more, this is just a rough first idea since then.
A woman is dancing on stage with her ballet partner who keeps forgetting his routine, afterwards she is walking backstage and hears a repetitive banging noise coming from the basement and goes to see what it is. Upon finding a no entry door from which the noise is coming, she peers through a gap to see a large man pick up a bowling ball and walking over to a large wheel connected to a spinning pole reaching up through the ceiling, when he then goes to throw the ball at the wheel too keep it turning she notices he naturally pulls a ballet pose to throw, and carries on doing this while pulling different poses each time. After a while he notices the woman watching him and is startled and embarrassed, she dances over to him and pulls him to dance with her, with him naturally being able to dance. The two of them then become ballet partners, while her old partner is sent to the depths of the basement keep the windmill spinning in his place.

Character Design Lesson 1
Gollum, Lord of the Rings |
Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo |
Gru, Despicable Me |
The first task was to try and make Scooby Doo look like he was in the Lord of the Rings world, this was a realistic dog but still with exaggerated features and the features that make Scooby Doo recognizable.

Scooby Doo in Lord of the Rings Style |
The second task was to make Gollum look like he is in the Despicable Me world, the style of Despicable Me is a 3D caricatures so I tried to make a cartoon version of Gollum with exaggerated features which was more difficult than I thought it would be but I felt the result worked.

Soundscape Key Frame - The Laugh
For the Soundscape project I got this image called The Laugh - La Risata, the image is quite open to interpretation and I want to avoid finding out the actual meaning of the painting to allow a wider range of directions that I can take the animatic in.
On first impressions it seems like an underwater scene surrounded by machinery or potions, so I will experiment with sounds relating to water and machinery.
